Celebrating Two Decades of Himalayan Adventure
For over 20 years, HASTPA has been scripting the story of mountain biking in the Indian Himalayas — from rugged single tracks to high-altitude passes, from community rides to international racing glory. Each event we’ve organized reflects our passion for adventure, our respect for the mountains, and our commitment to developing cycling culture in India.
Flagship Events Over the Years
MTB Himalaya – The Flagship Race
Since its inception in 2005, MTB Himalaya has evolved into one of Asia’s oldest and toughest mountain biking stage races, attracting elite riders from India and across the globe.
Spanning the pristine trails of Himachal Pradesh, it has tested endurance, skill, and spirit — becoming the ultimate celebration of human grit amidst nature’s grandeur.
Editions: 2005 – Present
Highlights: Riders from 30+ countries, 500+ stages completed, countless stories of adventure.
MTB Shimla – The Urban Adventure
Focus: Promoting cycling as a lifestyle sport and eco-tourism in and around the Queen of Hills.
MTB Chamba – The New Frontier
The newest addition to HASTPA’s racing legacy, MTB Chamba takes riders through the unexplored trails and valleys of Chamba, a natural haven known for its raw beauty and untouched terrain.
Objective: To open new destinations for sustainable adventure tourism and showcase Himachal’s lesser-known regions.
Cycling for Change
Series of community rides, awareness drives, and fitness campaigns organized across Himachal to encourage cycling for health, environment, and community bonding.
School Cycling Programs
Workshops and training programs in schools to introduce students to mountain biking, safety practices, and sportsmanship — building the next generation of cyclists.
Coaching & Athlete Development
From local riders to national-level athletes, HASTPA’s mentorship and training programs have helped nurture talent, with many riders now representing India at competitive platforms.

MTB Himalaya 2026

Route: Across the high-altitude passes and valleys of Himachal Pradesh
About the Event:
Asia’s oldest and toughest mountain biking stage race returns for its 20th edition! Riders from across the world will take on multi-stage routes through the Himalayas — a test of endurance, courage, and spirit.

MTB Shimla 2026
Dates: April 2025
Route: Around the forests, trails, and ridges of Shimla
About the Event:
A thrilling two-day race designed for beginners and seasoned riders alike. Experience the charm of Shimla’s hills, forest trails, and cultural villages while competing in India’s favorite spring MTB challenge.

MTB Chamba 2025
Dates: Nov 2025
Route: The unexplored trails and valleys of Chamba
About the Event:
Discover Chamba — the untouched wonder of Himachal. The event will take riders through lush forests, riversides, and pristine Himalayan backcountry.
Objective: To promote Chamba as a new frontier for sustainable adventure tourism.

Ride for Nature – Eco Awareness Ride
Location: Shimla
Join hundreds of cyclists to celebrate the environment and promote eco-friendly living.
Cyclothon for Health & Fitness
Location: Various districts across Himachal Pradesh
